Is it true cedar scratches much easier to fir?
I'm about to buy an acoustic guitar. I like to rock and I will be playing 95% of the time. I wanted a solid cedar top guitar, but my friend told me that the cedar is much easier than the tree top traditional. Is this true? thanks
Spruce tends to be more difficult and less susceptible to scratching. But whether ignoring the proper management will zero. I do not agree with any of the answers here that say "cedar is stronger." Cedar has its place in the world of guitar, but probably 80-90% of all acoustic guitars have spruce tops or a close cousin used at the top.
