Do I really need classes to learn to play guitar?
I decided to learn to play guitar .. But do you really need lessons? I mean, Today, you can learn almost anything you want with a little research on the Internet. I have several books and a DVD or two. It will be necessary get the lessons? Thank you.
Need? No, with enough determination, practice, and a large amount of patience, it is entirely possible to teach yourself on guitar. I did, and I stink. Before continuing, I admit to having a bias. I can be an arrogant bastard when I want to be, and the method he chose to learn the guitar is no different. Also, I started very young, while my brain was still figuratively speaking like a dry sponge, ready to absorb anything. I've never had a single lesson, and there are certain elements to my style that reveals the fact that I am not a trained musician. Moreover, My heroes are all (mostly) self-taught. It is by far easier to learn the guitar lessons. In addition, several "irregular" forms of play that a) can be avoided through lessons, b) are difficult to change once they are rooted in self-taught style. I put the wrong word in the quote because of my prejudices, I feel that sometimes, are also things that give it flavor, that are the hallmarks of the uniqueness of a musician. If you choose to teach yourself, I recommend a poster called "Guitar Chords" available in most music stores and I've seen elsewhere in their collections of posters. Not only does it look cool on the wall, but also makes easy reference, and is a good reminder of-your-face to pick up his guitar and practice. Practice new things is often the key to improving your game. It is also essential to remember everyone aspires to that for the little first, and if you can get over that first hump, the rest is smooth sailing. So yes, the keyword in its question is "need." Many people do not need lessons to learn, but it sure can help.
